They do, but the GPU is more important. If you were to add $100 for an i5, you would have to subtract $100 from the GPU, leaving you with a much weaker gaming machine overall.
I pulled the trigger on what you recommended but added a Hydro Dynamic Bearing CPU Cooler to the build. 9 bucks isnt a lot to keep the cpu running a little cooler.
Can you link to the cooler? Some of the super cheap ones are actually worse than the stock AMD.

Yeah, I think I would forget that one and stick with the stock AMD cooler. The actual heatsink part is TINY!
Newegg is usually pretty forgiving about this kind of thing. I got mine sent back for free (they printed me a shipping label).

It seems like there are two different orders. One for the case and one for the rest, but I havent been charged for the rest yet. SO I hope the case doesn't get here saturday and I have to wait for the rest to show up next week.

Ok so everything is built and I only broke one thing.... no crossfire for me, I hadnt planned to use it any way. My only issue now is it is saying I am missing drivers when I install windows. I opted to use a boot stick instead of installing a optical drive because I never use it but it seems like I might have to break down and put one in. It's not being specific on what drivers are missing. Also my mouse wont work in the right front usb so I neeed to see if its just incompatible or if the port isnt hooked up.

So, if I'm understanding you right, you cannot get Windows to detect your disks during install? Go into the BIOS and make sure the SATA controllers are set to AHCI.
As for the mouse not working in the front, that sounds like the header isn't properly connected.

I'm booting via USB and the drive detects what's on it but the dangling keeps saying I'm missing some drivers
I solved my issue. working on installing all the other drivers now. Everything running smoothly so far.
AHCI is not legacy mode, it's the new standard. The controllers could have defaulted to RAID, which does need extra drivers.

The problem was apparently the loader has a glitch in it. You have to boot the OS in one port wait until it hits the error, put it in a different port and then backtrack to the first screen and try it and it finds all the drivers no problem.
I was on my cell and it was auto correcting the damn thing to dingling, and other things it sent were good dan phone and this thing is a piece of shark.
It only runs in ide or raid.
The ASRock 970 Pro3 absolutely does AHCI mode. Check out page 52 of your manual.

I tried running it in ahci but the computer just isnt having it. What are the benefits if I don't plan on using win 8?
I have it all up and running. I preferred to buy all new parts, just so the likelyhood of something failing is a lot lower on install. I might do so if I plan on replacing something.
Running legacy IDE mode loses TRIM (for SSDs) and native command queuing for HDDs. So you're leaving some performance on the table. It will work fine otherwise.
