Is $2700 US plus tax a good price for this computer? It seems like a pretty good price to me.

They had no 7800 GTX 512MB. The 7800 GTX 256MB performs about the same as the X1800 XT. Plus I would sacrifice some performance to be able to run HDR and AA together. And the 7800 was EVGA. From what I have heard EVGA has inconsistent quality.

From what I have heard Leadtek and BFG are much better. And I make the assumption that EVGA isn't realible based on many other opinions. I won't take it as fact just yet though.

Good price, well... your money, not sure all your goals guessing gaming. But yeah it is... then again be nice see each price per hardware. and EVGA not sure who you talk to, everyone I have and every forum and review vast majority love it. Do say where here those opinions =) Because Im getting a eVGA 7800GT

I just hear them hear and there. And a couple people mentioned they stopped selling them in their stores because of their quality. The stories may not have been true but I am just going by word of mouth. I always hear though that BFG and Leadtek are the top two. But is it true that causing your card to fry by OCing doesn't void the warranty with EVGA?

And I wasn't asking for people to check the price of each hardware part I did that myself and it was worth it. But all the prices were on NewEgg and they tend to be a bit pricy. I was just looking for a guesstimate. Sorry that I didn't make that clear.

$2,700 sounds reasonable if that includes assembly and shipping (what about support?). It'd probably come in $300-400 less if you built it yourself in that exact configuration ... but you could easily drop the overall cost.

If you're going with ATI, go with a non-SLI motherboard (if possible). Not sure what model DVD drives you're going for, but LiteOn / BenQ / etc. are usually less expensive and just as good, if not better than Sony.

Also, does anyone else think 600W is overkill? I don't know what the liquid cooling draws but the other components shouldn't need that much power.

DO NOT buy the X1800. The new ATi R580 core should be out very soon, and the X1900 series that it will power will completely replace the X1800s.

The DVD drives were Sony. And the SLI Mobo would be just in case I ever decided to go SLI. And that price does not include shipping and the warranty. So that would definitely add $200. Here are the approxiamate NewEgg prices for that computer:

4800 = $790
X1800 = $560
NF4 = $235
X-FI = $120
Corsair = $325
Raptor = $155
Enermax = $150
Sony = $130 ($260)
Cool Master = $100
Case = $60

Total = $2635

So it's all about the same but let's not forget prices have probably dropped due to Christmas specials. More so on NewEgg then on CP-PC (if any). I do know that some of the parts in the config are a bit overkill but I was currious to see their prices and if they were worth it. Plus you could get a very good 2 yearwarranty for $80. Wouldn't it be worth it to get it from these guys?

I'm not gonna buy the computer I was just curious of their prices. And the new R580 does seem like it will blow the R520 out fo the water.
