So, as you may remember, I started two (2) threads on building a computer. I am building a PC for my girlfriend and I.

My Computer:

Asus Z87-Deluxe
Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2 DIMMS)
Samsung 840EVO 750GB SSD (for Games, Windows, Browser, Important Software)
Western Digital 2TB Caviar Black (For Normal Software, some Games, Documents, Business Flies (I have a lot of them), etc.)

It would also help to spell out the prices of each thing. $3200 looks like an absurd total for a system, but it includes a probably-expensive monitor, Windows, and a laser printer among other things.

Also, linking to the old threads might be helpful. [thread=2375362]Here's the Girlfriend's PC thread[/thread]. How did you get from an i3 build for under $600 to an Athlon X4-760K build for $1000?
 
How serious are you and your girlfriend and how serious is she about gaming? It might be worth cutting down on some of the more excessive parts in your build (like a 750GB SSD) in order to put just a little bit more money into her build if she wants a rock solid gaming machine. If she doesn't care all that much about the settings and it's just a way to spend time with you, then maybe not.

the monitor and peripherals.
 
Can't really fault the gaming build. Personally I'd use a 1TB SSD and a 4TB HDD. A 1 + 2TB HDD is rather redundant. For the girlfriends PC, I'd rather go for an i3 rather than FM2 and drop the GPU unless you are sure you need it. If it a basic box I'd also drop the HDD and up the SSD to a 256GB EVO or 500GB EVO and leave it at that.
 
So, I will get back to all of your answers tommorow because typing from an iPhone keyboard is annoying. Here are the basic questions...

1. My PC will be used for heavy gaming, video animations, 3D animations, business, Internet, blu-ray, etc. Her PC will be used for some heavy games, more moderate games, internet, and a non-blu-ray movie when I am at work.

2. The monitor I want to buy is a 27" Dell with 2560 x 1440p. She wants the Dell 24" ultrasharp at 1920 x 1080p.

3. All parts will be from US (newegg.)

4. Build ASAP after April 1st

5. SeaSonic power supplies, corsair RAM, Western digital hard drives. She dosent care.
 
Minor point, I would get ten deathadder 2013 over the mionix 8200. the deathadder is the most comfortable mouse I've ever used, it has awesome tracking and is nearly perfect IMO. I would second the k95, really great mechanical keys, top build quality. The dell u2713hm is also a great monitor, only equaled by the ASUS equivalent. I would reccomend the ASUS ROG hero over the deluxe.
 
Just a few things, I am moving tomorrow and have to take 3-4 trips so I probably wont be here until tomorrow. Anyways, new build...

Why have you picked the parts that you've picked? Are they good deals, do you need these specific parts? Are you really locked into Newegg exclusively?

It would really help to link to the parts if you want us to help you optimize your performance/dollar.

The 750GB SSD is only $10 expensiver that the 500GB SSD. I chose a 4TB HDD and the CPU and Mobo are best of the best.

Which is why it would be helpful to post the prices for each part. You say you're buying from Newegg, but I'm not seeing the 750GB and 500GB versions within $10 of each other on Newegg.

I know you're moving today so you won't have much time to respond, but honestly it seems like you're going out of your way to avoid painting the whole picture.
