Ok so a friend of mine wants me to build him a computer for class and games. He is going to school for animation (I think, can?t really remember) and he needs a well rounded computer because he will be doing many things on it. (i.e. Some 3D work, Video editing, flash, Photoshop, so on ?) And he wanted it around $1,200, so I put together a list of parts I?m thinking of getting.
MSI K8N NEO2 PLATINUM ATX AMD Motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 3000+ 1GHz FSB Socket 939 Processor
GeIL 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Dual Channel Kit System Memory
Or
pqi TURBO 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Dual Channel
AOpen 6800GT 256MB Video Card
Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 SATA NCQ 3.5" Serial ATA150 Hard Drive
OCZ ModStream OCZ45012U 450W Power Supply
LITE-ON Black IDE DVD Burner
Thermalright XP-90 (with 92mm Med or High speed panaflo)
SAMSUNG 997DF-T/T 19" CRT Monitor (going to buy from a local store)
The case I?m going to help him pick out. I figure that since he is the one that has to look at it, he should be the one to pick what it looks like. Speakers I haven?t really chosen yet, any help on that would be great. And I'm pretty sure the PSU is a bit overKill so if you know of a good PSU that will run this for a bit cheaper, let me know.
Thanks.
