Computer breaking my ram?

So I got the Corsair ram thats hot in the hot deals forum right now. Then it broke after seemingly working for a little whire.
See this thread.
So I just got back the RMA, did memtest, it passed 3 passes with no errors. I played about 30 minutes of CS:S, and my comp froze. And so did my heart.
Rebooted with memtest86 again, immeidiately got errors.
Last time only one stick was broken, Ill have to see if that is the case once again after I get back from work. Im running them dual channel. My current (old) ram is 2x256 dual channel that I have never had a problem with.
Is it possible that my 'puter is somehow not compatable enough to break or cause damage to a stick of ram?

just got back from wor (only 4.5 hr shift) ran memtest86 when i started with no immeidiate errors as I had before. Im not sure what the deal is with this...one time event? I rem when I first put in my 2x256 I got the blue screen of death a few times then it remained stable ever since.
