The computer is set to hibernate after 3 hours. I have it set this way so the wife does not have to start the computer from a cold boot. I can't remember the last time I restarted the computer.
So this weekend I shut it off and when I went to turn it on again the computer fans start spinning but no post. The monitor power light stays orange. I hold down the power button on the computer to do a hard shutdown and it turn off. I power it up again goes through post and boots me to the bios screen. I hit esc and the computer starts windows normally. I shut down again and get nothing. Restart again and get the bios screen again. I went through this a few more times. Anyone know what the problem here might be?

The computer is running windows XP pro , 1.5 GB ram , AMD Athalon 64 3400+ No overclocking, 300gb Segate HD only 1.5 years old. Mobo is an Asus K8VSE about 4 or 5 years old.

Any helpful info would be appreciated,

-Mike

Ok, I had some time today to dig a little deeper into the issue. I found some good info online. I needed to reset cmos. After I did this , all is fixed. I figured I would post the solution here in case anyone else comes across the same problem.
