Computer Boot Problem, please help ASAP...

All of a suden when I boot up my main rig, it boots past the boot screen then gives me a page where at the bottom it says:

Verifying DMI Pool Data.......

and it stops there. what the heck. anyone got ideas?

hard drive MBR is fubar.

edit: unless it normally is followed by "... Done", if so then it's a bios issue

Hard drive cable plugged in backwards?

Two masters on the IDE bus?

That kind of thing.
