computer being hijacked???

the start up page for my IE is set to about:blank but this morning, when i start my IE, it loaded some shaddy search engine site. when i tried to change by accessing the internet option, it says that the action is cancelled due to restriction in effect on this computer. it ask me to contact system admin. the problem is i'm logged in as the administrator!!!! wat should i do??? help pls....

I think spyware has really started to cross the line with this kind of activity and should be deemed illegal (a.k.a. a virus).

You might try Tools > Internet Options > Programs. On this page is a Reset Web Settings pushbutton that is supposed to reset it back to the default home and search pages.

But I agree that you need to run Adaware and/or Spybot S&D.
