Is there anyway for me to set my puter to play music (mp3) as an alarm clock type thing? My clock radio sucks, plus none of the stations around here play good music.

it's simple... set up winamp to run in your task scheduler... someone here will know the exact command line to use to play a particular file.

Well if your computer's loud enough, you could just set your computer to go off at a certain time via the BIOS.

nah, i don't want that. I need to leave it on all night, and I don't have task manager running.

Edit: Thanks, ltk. I wasted my typing on YOU! ;)

Make a Winamp playlist and make a shortcut to it.

Then, as luv2chill said, just tell Windows Task Manager to run that shortcut at the appointed time.

This works quite well, I've done it myself! For a bit of variety in your alarm make the playlist of ALL your .mp3 files and leave Winamp on random. It's nice to not wake up to the same thing every day.

The have your parents come down and yell at you over and over to get up works for me EVENTUALLY.

my asus board from buttass one allows autobooting as an option in the bios. i don't use it though.

setting it to play a loud ass file would kill me though ;-)
