I wouldn't say that I'm 'addicted' to computers, but I always find myself in front of them. Often, I just listen to music with it, but hten i find myself talking to friends online and, before i know it, two hours is gone. Sometimes I just don't feel like moving away from it and it's easier to just sit there than do to anything else.

I guess, I want to know if anyone else has been in the same situation before and gotten out of it. I'm a fairly active, i play a sport regularly, and have friends. Most of my friends, however, don't go out that often and, to get them to go out I have to do a lot of work. So, often, I wind up sitting at home, staring at this blasted computer.

I was thinking about selling this computer and buying a laptop... mostly so i couldn't relaly play games anymore. I also was going to buy an dell jukebox so i could listen to music away from my computer.

Thanks for reading guys!

How about you turn the damn thing off and go hang out with a friend? Easy.

Anything is addictive. While you won't go through genuine physical withdrawl symptoms if you quit using a computer "cold turkey" you can still get withdrawl symptoms.

I've read studies saying dihydrogen monoxide can help if there is a chemical basis to the addiction -- for most people it's a mix of both brain chemistry and psychological factors. You can now get a lower-strength version of generic DM over-the-counter at most drugstores.

I thnk it's an addiction that I will never get over. The computer/internet is really addictive. It's communicating with alotta people from the comfort of your own home, really can't beat that.
