COMPUSA REBATES---FORGET ABOUT EM!!!!

HI All

If you're expecting compusa to forfill their obligations might as well FORGET ABOUT IT!!

Last year i purchased a logitech mouse that had a 8 dollar rebate. After about 4 months I contacted the company handling the rebate. They told me they sent the rebate and because it was under 10 dollars they werent liable for problems with the postal service and would not issue another one.

6 weeks ago they had a good deal on a cordless microsoft mouse with a 5 dollar rebate. I get a notice in the mail telling me the compusa rebate was not submitted. I indeed sent it to them all filled out very clearly. How else would they know my address. I explained to the lady over the phone that this was a COMPUSA rebate and not a mamufacturers rebate and the only thing they needed was the info on the cashregister receipt. No success. I even wasted time copying the receipt. But, Im just gonna send a letter to the attorney generals office of my state alerting them to COMPUSA advertising fraud. Its not worth my time and money to drive to the store for a 5 dollar rebate.

Compusa is usually the highest priced retailer. Usually within a week Staples, office Max or office depot has the same deal for less. For now on im gonna avoid COMPUSA.

Really?

<<< HELPFUL HINTS >>>

1) Read rebate requirements before you buy the product or as soon as you buy the product to be sure you meet the eligibility requirements and you know the mail-in dates.
2) If you are buying a product and the rebate is online, download and/or print the rebate immediately. Some online sites will remove rebates as soon as the sale/promotion is over.
3) ALWAYS make good copies of everything you send in for a rebate.
4) Complete all information requested on rebate form in a legible hand writing. You may want to use all caps.
5) Provide all documents requested on the rebate form.
6) Put your rebate documentation and copies in a safe place and follow up on the dates they are due.
7) Call about your rebate if you do not receive it when it is due.

lol, I imagine the OPs conversation with the CSR had something like "I'll never buy from your company again and I'll tell all of my friends about your crappy service" in it.

believe me man, many people have been down that road. I personally don't do the rebate scam any longer. In my mind why the hell don't they just take the money off the price right away right then and there? It's all setup to be very scammish and I just don't buy products with rebates. I'm pretty sure rebates will eventually be ruled as against the law / defrauding the consumer / false advertising somewhere down the line.

you must have forgotten a copy of the UPC or a copy of yoru reciept or didn't fill in the complete rebate form.

I have neve been denied any rebates and I've done over a hundred of them (from diff. stores of course, some from CUSA)

95% of my rebates have been paid (none with CUSA) . I've had one or two problems but they're usually easily resolved.

Rebates should never expire, it's your money they are suppose to give it back.
