So i got a 20 inch lcd monitor online at Compusa, and it has 5 dead pixels, and then I noticed that there are 2 reciepts in the box. Appartently this monitor was originally bought on 8/21 and then return to them on 8/29 and they shipped it to me without removing their reciept. The returns department is closed until tuesday, anyone have experience with Compusa and dead pixel returns? I looked on their website and it says it will charge me a 15% restocking fee, which is crap cause I should be able to get a monitor with out defects.

Bring it to a store with the two receipts, get a new one without a hassle.

I'm a fvck, but I'd consider calling my local news channel if I had the same experience.

I called the store (only store in the state) and they said that they can't take it back because they don't carry that model, and that I would have to call Customer Support. I would have lived with it until i noticed the second reciept and realized that it was a returned monitor. The box that it came in still has his address on it, Fedex just put an new label over it.

You need to call your local TV stations and newspapers and tell them this.

Where are the dead pixels? Are they in a row or scattered around?

It doesn't matter, its five dead pixels. There's no reason why he should have to tolerate it.

4 of the 5 are on the sides which on that bad, but there is one that looks like it is a few dead pixels together right near the center and that's the one that's annoying me.

Walk into the store, ask them if they sell monitors which were returned for dead pixels as brand-new monitors. When they say "no, no, of course not!", show them your monitor, show them the two receipts, and tell them that you'd like a monitor which is actually new, which is after all what you paid for. If they "don't carry that model anymore", you'll accept something of equal or better quality. Don't accuse them of fraud unless they won't budge.

totally. i had a 17" LCD monitor that after some use got like 4 dead pixels. i took it to the store and they decided they need to take it for testing. they didn't tell me how long. it ended up taking 3 weeks. then i get the same model monitor back, but not in a box or something. just the monitor. i was pissed but they did replace it. for all i know, it is a returned monitor though. i'm never buying from that shop again.

If you look at the rest of the return policy, it states that the 15% restocking fee is only if the product is not defective, which is obviously is, so no worries there.

The issue with reselling a returned monitor is obviously not a company policy, but it does happen at most electronics stores occasionally. Many things are returned, they look like they haven't been opened since the boxes don't always come sealed, and it is accidentally resold. I had this happen at Walmart to me before and there was no need to call the news stations for an accident. Take it in, politily explain the situation and what you think is a reasonable solution, and ask to speak to a manager if it is not handled correctly. Treat them like you would like to be treated and a lot more will get done. Good luck.

QFT. Doesn't matter if they don't have it or not, they are a representative of the company. Get them to deal with it, and if they absolutely refuse then get your money back, file a complaint with the BBB, and shop elsewhere from now on. If they have any sense at all they'll take care of you in the store, because it'll cost them a LOT less than the loss of business in the long run.

its annoying, they shoulda implimented a system where lcds with dead pixels were clearly marked and discounted long ago. just tell the truth to the customers instead of this acceptable dead pixel bs. no dead pixels for full price is acceptable.

They can still give you a refund or store credit
