$99.99 - $25 instant savings - $55 MIR

Right now, if you upgrade from Ver 6 to 7, you get a $30 MIR. I assume that when Ver 8 comes out, they will have the same deal.

I thought so! Thanks for the post.

(I have "worked this" successfully with many other "upgrades" . . . buy the cheap shortly-to-be-discontinued product and "learn" it. IF I like it, UPgrade to the new version with a built-in discount when it's sale or hot deal comes out.) ;)

Made the purchase, here's the deal: $25 off at the register plus $25 CompUSA MIR plus $30 manufacturer MIR. Inside the box, there is a $50 MIR if you buy Version 8, it expires 6-30-03.

This is an incredible paint shop product. I like it better than Photoshop as it is easier to use too and comes with a GIF animation program too. It might not be as powerful as Photoshop but I have yet to need anything more powerful.

"The public beta for 8 is downloadable on their site. It will work till July 1"
didn't know that! :( thanks!
i have 6 (from od clr for $35.88 after coupon) from a year or so ago
7 is on company's computer... that jpeg/png/gif export function is faster that photoshop's "save to web" imo and uses less resources
thought for sure that beta would work indefinitely  again, thanks for the info

It really doesn't. PS is a "pro" product and priced to match. PSP is more user-friendly, inexpensive and aimed at the "consumer".

If you are a "pro", PS is the standard.

Just about anyone else will benefit from PSP.

Almost done with the d/l of beta8. :)

My suggestion is to D/L the beta and "play" with it to get a feel for the new product . . . free is good - even a time-limited demo.

edit - ok, this will be a no go as 2 rebates require original UPC.

Good find...I've been itchin' to buy this for years, but couldn't find a decent deal. I'm concerned 'bout that $25 CompUSA rebate...I'm still waitin' on rebates from a year ago.

PSP 7 is good... but old..

PSP 8 is available for FREE !! ! !! just check the PSP website for the beta release or PM me and I'll give you a linky.

There is No diff between the FREE beta and the Retail that will hit soon.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also..

PSP is wimpy when compared to Adobe Photoshop... but then again.. Apples to Golden Apples. (cant really compare fairly)

PSP is more for painting.. and PShop is more editing and web graphics.

i have photoshop 6.0 also and have been working with it since 3.0 on the mac
i think of photoshop as the ferrari, and psp as the camaro
both will get a speeding ticket, but from my experience, a camaro is easier to drive in city traffic

lol good point..

More like a 1969 Chevy 350 Mailbu SS compared to a Ferrari..

Both are badASS but one is for the High end pro's the other is for the middle class pro's
