Hey folx, went to Compusa today to get a 20-pack of 80-minute CDRs for $2.99 after instant savings (normally $7.99) and what they had in stock was bundles of off-brand discs with no cases or spindle and they were only 74-minute discs. I asked an employee about it and he got a manager. Indeed both the ad and the display tag said they were supposed to be 80-minute discs. The manager apologized and offered me a replacement. He grabbed a couple of 10-packs of what I think were Imation 80-minute discs with regular jewel cases and offered them to me at $1.50 each, but I countered with a 20-pack of Imation black 80-minute discs with slim jewel cases instead. He took it back and checked if it was OK and returned to tell me he could do it.
So that's a 20-pack of Imation 80-minute black CDRs with slim cases normally $11.99 for $2.99. Your mileage and substitution may vary.

I was wondering why they had 20 CD-Rs for less than 1/5 of a 100-pack of the same thing...

LOL~ I am not sure whether this is a good deal. I usually get my CDR free after rebate. A recent score is two 50pk Fuji CDR, free after rebate.

Not a very hot deal. The 2 10pks with full size jewel cases for $3.00 would have been pretty decent, but those slimline cases suck ass. I'd rather have a spindle than a slimline deal. My .02 cents

i've got tons of regulat jewel cases, but the slim jewel cases are the ones that are hard to find! also getting hard to find the mini-CDRs in jewel cases for a good price. i saw a spindle of 50 mini-CDRs for $30... you guys seen any better?
