Just okay. Dell has had the Inspiron B120/B130 for around $450, but it came with double the memory, a CDRW/DVD Combo Drive, and a wireless card; plus no rebate. This laptop is BARE.

Don't forget to add in the shipping charge, which shows as $70 for me. You can view, configure, and order this here. For me it shows that the ship date would be Feb 9.

If you somehow have not gotten around to buying F.E.A.R. - just go do it right now!

Nice price. Isn't one of the rebates contigent on signing up for AOL? I though that I heard that in previous CompUSA laptop posts.

it's like a staples easy rebate. you sign up at compusa's rebate website, then enter some numbers and the total from your receipt, and they send out the rebate when the return period expires.

I'll point out the same thing I did at FW. Shipping was free last week at the same price with the same rebates, so this deal is $69 worse than last week. If you're not in a hurry, you may want to hold out for a better deal.

I picked it up at the store ... saved the shipping and the discount came off at the register!

Holy resurrection of a 6 month old dead thread for absolutely no reason, Batman! :)

Thanks for the walk down memory lane - would you be interested in hearing the details of my 1984 Compaq purchase?

Not the same deal - different model, different processor, different optical drive, different rebates, different ordering (CTO with $69 ship versus online order withfree ship).

This one: Presario v2606cu Notebook
Mobile AMD Sempron 3000+ 1.8GHz Processor, 256MB RAM, 40GB Hard Drive, 14-inch WXGA TFT Display, DVD / CD-RW Combo Drive, Windows XP Home. Not too bad for $400 and there's some bundle thing available - $100 in Dining Dough with the purchase. Link . You might want to start a separate thread for this with the actual deal rather than an old one.
