Thanks kof

It's an NEC ND-2510A drive in the box. I bought one of these several weeks ago for $80AR.

$70AR is a good price, but I'm disappointed that after 2 firmware updates 8x DVD+R media compatibility is still pretty weak. I have yet to burn a single disc at 8x in my drive. :| Right now I wish that I had kept my old Lite-On 851S since it's been hacked to dual layer and had great media compatibility.

for the non-dual layer version of this drive (maddog dominator), the software was nero express. i suspect it's the same here.

i think it'd be best to just get the white-box version from new-egg. comes with the new roxio software. and you don't have to deal with rebates.

I bought a cheaper model that doesn't have the dual layer because I'll want dual layer when the burn speed is 8x and NOT 2.4x.

Might as well save the money cause you always have to upgrade.
