the router deal is over, but i think the SMC wireless card is still on on buy.com.
You can check it out yourself. I'm lazy to find the link for it right now. :)

try going into your router settings: WAN>Tools>Misc and change "WAN select to 10/100 Mbps" from 100mbps to 10mbps...they ship them set at 100mbps, while cable modems (I dunno if all, but mine was) are built for 10mbps max. That's what the tech dude on the phone said to do and it worked, w00t! (this was with my brother's 54mbps d-link router).

thanks but too late, i went with the linksys speedboosted g router amazon.com deal in this forum instead. works like a charm, and its power just way more. course it cost way more:p but its future potential with open source firmwares constantly adding crazy features is nice.

Yeah, definately. I'm using a 54mbps D-Link at home right now; I wanted an additional USB adapter for my mom's computer and I wanted to get an 11mbps router for when my girlfriend goes back to college next semester, so this turned out to be a good deal for me lol.

Got the router/wifi USB adapter combo from Fedex today, just installed the USB adapter...now connected to SkyNET! Muhahahahha...

Installation went without a hitch...installed the driver from the CD, turned the computer off, plugged the 802.11b USB adapter into the back of my mom's Dell, booted, entered the SSID and 128 bit HEX key for WEP, and now I'm connected at 100% strength. Kudos to D-Link!

I'll send off my rebates today or tomorrow and report when I get them back (that's when, not if, guys...;))
