CompUSA charged overcharged me a penny

Anyone have this happen to you? Well I bought a Linksys wrt54g wireless router on tuesday. Upon checkout, the regular lines were a bit long, so the lady over at technical services said she could ring me up.

Well today I find out that they charged me a penny for checking out through there! WTF. I know it is only a penny, but it can add up with all the customers going through there. Anyone else get this technical services charge of one cent when checking out through there? I dont feel like driving back to CompUssr to complain, because gas itself will cost me more then 1 cent.

I remember a scheme at some grocery store chain in CT many years back where they overcharged people $0.01 and it was some huge tax evasion scheme. It worked for a long time before the IRS finally caught on.

I ordered a meal at McD's at the mall. They were outta quarters so gave me 75c back in nickles. Of course, I counted it and it was only 65c. Cashier and Mgr were perturbed that I asked for my 10c. Hey, I'm eating at McD's, every cent counts.

Actually, I didn't really care but it was annoying to get all nickles back and I had nothing better to do while waiting for the food.

I would wait until NEXT time you end up at CUSA and then complain then. Or you could just wander around the parking lot, you'll probably find a penny, it all balances out.

Did you ever stop to think that the register you checked out at is for technical services? They probably had to "charge" you 1 cent so that they could ring the rest of your order out. Those registers arent set up for normal purchasing.
