Compusa Branded vs True Maxtor Drives

[Need4Speed]

Looking at picking up an 80gb 8mb cache drive. The Compusa Branded is on sale for 70 after rebate, and the Maxtor is 119.00.

Any thoughts on this?

I got one a few months ago and didn't see any difference. It had a 3 year warrentee, which is a plus (and it was the regular drive).

Go for it! I've used several of these of varying sizes and had no problems.

CompUSA = 1yr warrantyMaxtor = 1yr warrantythat factor is now ..nil..grab the better deal

The one I got which was just a vanilla 60 Gig drive was 3 year warrentee.

date of manufacture was before Jan 2003 ..?

I decided to grab the Western Digital 120gb for 79.99 after rebate at CC.

was a Maxtor box with old style ..woman...or new style with man on front..old style possibly either way..new style are pretty much 1 yr now.. ..

They come in male and female versions now?

They would probably sell better if they put a hot chick wearing spray-on jeans on the box...

Well seeing as how most HDD are bought to store massive collections of porn, wouldn't it be fitting to seel the drives with scantly clad women on the cover and charge a little extra to have some pron already on the drive.
