Compusa 3 Hr Blast Sale

Wish I knew what kind of prices they were having on laptops with this deal. Guess I'll have to wait until Saturday.

Im looking for a digital camera, what kind of mark ups are typical on digital cameras? Is it even worth me going to this or can I do better online?

Thanks

cost isnt that good on laptops it really varies, ive seen cost from 50-100 bux off, on digital cameras cost isnt a big different normally $50 at the most..

Sounds about right. I worked there for 4 years. Cost +7% is almost full retail on computers

i'd sure like to know this too....think i can get a quality monitor (samsung, viewsonic) for under $300?

That Canon camera deal is COLD.

Amazon has it for $416-$30 AMAZON VISA = Total $386 shipped and no tax.
Easy return policy vs CompUSSR's 15% restocking. ;(

They got rid of the restocking fee

I would never do business with CompUSA again. Me and many other people I know had very bad experience with them. I will pay 10 extra bucks but I'll go to Best Buy or Fry's.

<-- use to be a best buy employee as well...BB is one of THE most profitable stores and ranked number 1 among all electronic stores worldwide so yea it does kick compusa's butt...but when i use to work at BB...our discount was 10% above cost is what we paid(or some small percent like that)...but if things at compusa 'cost' similar to BB...then you can expect good deals in the car audio dept...i baught my 1500 dollar car system for 700 w/ my discount w/ free install..also worth mentioning...the viper security system...a 500 dollar security system for 250 w/ tax...oh yeah...also be sure to check out the little things like case fans, bootleg 'mod kits', and accessories of that sort...they would probably be real cheap as that was the case @ BB...a lousy case fan was 10 dollars but w/ the discount it came to about 2 bucks...
...also...@ BB when i was looking into buying a 6800GT OC w/ the X% above cost discount it came to about 311....so thats something DEF DEF worth looking into @ compusa to see if they have a deal similar to something like that...long post...i know...but i hope it helps...

PS still cant believe BB's whole angel/devil policy...such BS

Its simple. Just don't use a credit card and use multiple BB's to defeat the system. Give them different zip's as well. Since you arn't using a credit card, they would have to use face recognition to figure you out. And even then, by using multiple BB's, that becomes even more difficult (since computers still can not really do this well, and the employees see about 400 people a day at least...).

in my experience, the only thing better about the other 2 is price... as far as customer service all three suck a$$....

i have returned something maybe twice in my whole history of shopping at best buy
od contact tells me: "hahahahahayhaha! hey, that girl from best buy just asked us what you doing in here -- is he returning something here too?!"

you guys just dont come to my compusa. We only charge restocking fee's on some computers/lcds/laptops.. our store tends to get in trouble since we have one of the highest return rates..supposedly we are in the top 5.... also at ANY compusa if you buy something, you have till january 8th to return it. NO RESTOCKING FEE's...too bad i odont need a laptop for a month or id just buy one and return it next year.

so when we walk in sat morning, every single item will have a cost+7 price listed under it in the store?

This is true. If they were doing cost + 7% on cables and other random stuff like adaptors and whatnot, they are something like 75% markup or more if I remember right. I think I bought a 29.99 dollar printer cable for 2.23 at cost.... LOL

I did not see any good deal at all, the only good deal I saw is the Palm PDA Tungsten T5, $346. Which is a pretty good deal. And most accessories, 10% off, which is still not that good of a deal. So I came out empty handed because it is not cost + 10%, it is 10% off everything in the store except sale items. Such a waste of time.

Yeah, I got up to go there after only getting about 3 hours of sleep, then had a 35 mile drive, and was sorely disappointed at the non-deals! I was hoping to get some wireless networking stuff to do up my home but I didn't even bother as everything had 2 or 3 rebates on it. I did end up getting the AT&T stuff that they are clearing out on their website though, great deal on the 108 Mbps stuff. Hope somebody keeps supporting it if AT&T gets out of the business though.
