FWIW, it took my order online an hour ago. Just got some DVD media, and figgered the price on the 1.5GB flashdrive was about what I was looking for.

Hmm, anyone have anything to say about the FAR headphones and/or the noise cancelling ones?

I can't find reviews at all on the FAR Koss KSC 17 phones, but the $20 noise cancelling QZ50's seem to get very nice reviews.

anyone get the 80gb hard drive yet. I might pick one up later today. All I can tell online from the rebate that it's a seagate hard drive. I would like more information and know how long warranty will be till. Also The cd-rs that are on sale the 90 cdrs the 3 30 pcaks are Memorex 48x CD-R Media. 80 Minutes / 700MB, with Spindle, 30 Pack normal price 9.99 each

I bought these last time they had this deal and they do pretty well.

I stopped in the Edina, Mn CompUSA and the line was to the back of the store for both registers.

I left.

I have over 300 CDRs and about 90 DVD-R's so I ain't real concerned.

Can CompUSA still sell DVD X Copy Platinum when the courts rule the software company couldn't sell it anymore?

I believe resellers can sell what stock they have.

The website mentions that the QZ50's require 1 AAA battery. Anyone know why?

QZ50's have noise cancelling. If you want to turn on that feature, you'll need the battery.

I just went shopping and I tested out what I have. The KSC 17 FAR phones are worth what they sell for: $0. Very tinny, bland sound. I'll report back after breaking them in.

The QZ50 noise cancelling phones are very respectable. They sound very rich and full, and the bass is a bit deeper when I turn on noise cancelling. I haven't used them in a noisy area yet, so I don't know. The package claims 15dBa low frequency reduction.

The laptop case for $10, the Caselogic KNC2 seems very reasonable for $10 AR. Link. The laptop area is adjustable to match your lappy's size, there's room for the power adaptor, other pouches for documents, pens and pencils, a PDA, a phone, etc.

Make sure you're getting the KNC2 if you get one of these. I accidently picked up a KNC4 first (the store didn't have labels properly set up), and that thing was a monster! It was way too big and heavy!

What do you mean "gutted it and hooked up composite in" ?

Does it come that way, or do you need soldering tools and electronics know-how?

Picked up the a bunch of 30 pack Memorex CDR's, some were CMC like last time they were on sale, didn't see any Prodisc this time but the big suprise was the bunch of Ritek's that I got! Easy way to identify the Riteks from the CMC is to check the top of the spindle and note if the center of the cover has a hexagon shaped centering protrusion. The other way is to look for the typical small print serial numbers in the center of the disk. Good luck, still have 1/2 hour to go before closing here.

Managed to pick up the 25 pack DVD-RW discs (Memorex) and 3 of the 30 pack CD-R Memorex which ID as CMC. Also picked up the Koss KSC17 headphones. For using while I'm bicycling they are perfect. Thay have a sensitivity rating of 98 db and also have a built-in volume control. Considerably louder than the junk headphones I had been using. They may sound a little tinny but the bass boost feature on my POS radio helps somewhat. If I get the rebate and they prove to have been free I won't be dissatisfied. Also picked up the Kensington wireless mouse which seems to be OK. I took a look at the Maxtor 200 GB HD and noticed none of them had the controller card included. I guess Maxtor decided at some point to quit including them with any of their drives. Decent sale for CompUSA I suppose.

ooooo... no limit on those 3 X 30pack CDR's for $8 --- picked up 6 for $17.xx w/tax out the door

Thanks!

Still would like someone to comment on the Hip Screenpad things... in particular the video-in
Is it particular to the console, or is it just any 'ol video-in.
(I got a dreamcast and could get a playstation-->dreamcast controller adapter)

It has 2 connectors on the end: one for connecting to the console and another for daisy video (a regular AV connection). You can use the screen without connecting it to the Xbox. I connected it to my computer and it worked nicely. :D I had the same idea about using it with the dreamcast.
