CompSource Has Threatened to Sue Me

Apparently companies read ResellerRatings but some don't take heed.

CompSource has a bad rating on Reseller. I added to the sob stories already there under CompSource, and while giving attaboys to NewEgg on Reseller for really helping me out when I ordered the wrong part number BenQ DVD burner, I cited CompSource as an example of very poor customer service.

This afternoon I received an e-mail from the CEO of CompSource charging me with slander and threatening to turn their lawyers loose on me, cancel my order:brokenheart:and take other actions. In the same letter they say they have reimburseed my charge card (no evidence of that as of now on my financial data website). They have given me 36 hours to respond or all these bad things will happen. Do they want me to apoligize????

I find any number of vwndor websites that are explicit in stating that (a)the product you are ordering is a preorder (b)they can not guarantee the time frame for receipt of your order, and (c)you will not be charged until the item is shipped. That wasn't hard and that was all CompSource had to do. Instead they chose to keep stringing me along until I had to find out for myself that the product (NSK-6500 Antec case) was not avaialble to sell or ship. That in my opinion is very, very bad customer service and teeters on the border of fraud. They knowingly took my money for a product they did not have and had no firm idea as to when they would have it.

I think I'll cry myself to sleep tonight.

I'm not a lawyer (meaning whatever comes after this is completely moot), but it seems like they have absolutely no case against you. Fvck 'em up, son.

screw them. They have no grounds against you. Did you lie in your review? If not, they have no case. You could send him an email back and ask exactly what he considers slanderous and point out all that you said is what happened. Sometimes the truth hurts! People don't like that either. And after the way they have acted, I personally would have cancelled the order myself and gone somewhere else.

OP, edit/add the rating so that it includes the fact they threatened to sue for "slander". :D

:(JEDIYoda - JEDIYoda --- methinks thou protesteth too much----

Yesterday you tried to say the C-source.com website didn't have the NSK-6500 case advertised. It does, and it still says back-ordered/no availability with a projection of 1 - 3 days before availability. This in the face of word from Antec- USA themselves that they expected product on these shores about mid-June.

If, mind you I say if, you have any connection to CompSource Inc. You need to admit to it and either make excuses for them or issue an apology and a promise that the company will take the simple measures of using the term "pre-order" - that means ordering a product pending it's availability at whatever future date. And assuring customers that their debit/credit cards will not be charged until the product is in stock and shipping begins.

It is just that simple. Many other vendors do just that - why couldn't CompSource?

so skooma you criticized me in another thread while you backed up whatever somebody else said hands down without knowing any of the facts...

Then I see you challenging that same person in another thread
http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview...&STARTPAGE=1&FTVAR_FORUMVIEWTMP=Linear

who was absolutely correct concerning his opinions about Antec..in fact he even called you a troll...
He even accused you of adding no substance to the thread.
Just like you are adding no substance to this thread....usually people like that are trolls...

Again I find the AntecCSR to be just as bogus as the ThermaltakeCSR....

What I find about you skooma is your the same person in other threads to tell others who have differing opinions with others to shut up....

Too funny :)

I had a business law class a few semesters ago, but I don't need that to see the humor here.

They don't have any grounds to sue you; I wouldn?t even respond.

I would update the situation on ResellerRatings however :p

Seriously though, its best to just look away. "Jedi's Law" holds that each of his posts will be twice as stupid as the last and therefore any long term exposure to his drivel could lead to "yokelism", a serious affliction characterized by paranoia, self-conflagration and the desire to spend $200 on a teapo cap laced PSU.

Whay can't we all get along????

I wantd to give folks a heads-up about c-source.com just in case (sic) they might be tempted to order the new Antec case through them. And quite frankly, if I knew how to move an e-mail to this forum I would just to satisfy JEDI. Like what reason would i have to lie about an e-mail?????

By the same token if I knew how to move this thread to off topic other than starting all over again I would do that too. I'm a fat fingered hobbyist - not a geek.

Sorry 'bout that OP. :)

Just struck me as odd that a fellow forum member would challenge your honesty. My shot at him was so that you wouldn't feel obligated to provide your emails.

Anyway, carry on....

:p

Edit- and this forum is fine IMO. I'm sure alot of people would be interested in this case if it was in fact available.

A thread on a forthcoming case is in perfect suit for this forum, a problem with a retailer is not. Atleast I wasn't rude about it.

If you're telling the truth, then they're strong-arming you. They're saying you're lying. From what I can tell, you're not. They're at fault.
Note to self: don't ever buy from CompSource.
