My gpu can't fit into my case unless it's slanted a little is this not safe and too risky? Is been working good for about 2 weeks so far!

If I understand you completely you mean that it is not perpendicular to the motherboard and that is bad, real bad.

What motherboard do you have? For that matter, what specific 290X do you have?

It's all good I cut and bent some of the metal from my case blocking the gpu and now it's perfect. #notanewb ;-) didn't think the reference r9 290x would be bigger than my former gtx 570. But it's all good now.

Reminds me of the hack job i did on my old case to fit my 770, a old oem Gateway where i went nuts and bashed the living hell out of the hard drive cage with a hammer till i got it out.Have only a ssd so having that big freaking cage in there was a waste anyways.

Sometimes you need to do what you need to do to get these cards to fit.

Count me down for this option. To fit a card into my case 4-5 years ago I cut into the harddrive cage then used pliers to bend it out of the way... Who needs 25 hard drives anyway?
