Compressing video files from canon camera

I need to send a video I took from my Canon SD300 digital camera. It's only about 44s long but it's like 80mb.

Is there an easy way or program to use that will allow me to compress the video?

I've never done stuff like this before.

Just found a way through Windows movie maker, good enough for me.
