I want to re-format my hard drive on a 2nd computer and when I do it tells me to us drvspace because the drive is compressed. How do I re-format this drive? I want to do a clean install of win98se.

Thanks
Dave

Try this:

Go to Gateway's website.

Download file 7510009.exe and extract it. Copy the file gwscan.exe to a boot disk. Boot to it and run it by typing 'gwscan' at the dos prompt. Use the option to write zeroes to the hard drive. This is a low-level format that will completely reset the hard drive to its original state - no partitions, no file format, nothing. It can take a while depending on the size of your drive, but it has worked on every drive I've ever tried it on.
