A friend of mine shot some quicktime video using his digital camera... The files were pretty big -100 mb for about 1 min of video.. We edited it in premier and then outputted the files back to QT in "medium" compress- it's stil 98mb yet jaggie as hell! What gives? He wants to post them on his site so less than 10mb would be ideal.. How are movie trailers so clear and jaggie free yet so relatively small??

Use a better compression codec. Quicktime pro comes with a bunch of them, try mpeg4 or sorenson.

What's the resolution of his video? Most movie trailers are relatively low res, I believe, so an otherwise conservative bitrate will look better.
