composite to vga projector?

i bought the Philips DVP642, progressive dvd player.
it has composite out for the progressive, but my projector, X1, only has s-vid and vga input.

right now, im using s-video but a friend said i should use the composite. any way to convert composite into vga? or theres so such thing?

thanx.

Component, you mean? Composite is the "single yellow wire" type, and offers quality somewhere around an Etch-A-Sketch.

You may be stuck with Svideo for now, as offhand I don't know how to go from YPbPr to VGA.

oh wait, i meant component (3wires), not composite, a single yellow wire.

i just saw on ebay theres component to vga, but i wonder if progessive output will work this way, or will there b a loss in quality during conversion.
has anyone tried?
thanx.

You need a transcoder box; try a search for "VGA Box"; a lot of companies sell them for use with game consoles like the XBox so you can watch it on a VGA monitor.
