Composite or component from DVD player to VGA or DVI on monitor?

you would need a device that converts composite to vga or dvi (expensive), or a capture card with composite input for your pc (~$25). you will not be impressed with the quality sitting close to the monitor.

no, thats only for devices that accept component thru the vga connector. only saw this on a few projectors. you need a transcoder. also note, that particular VCR/DVD player only outputs composite from the VCR part. also take a look at the resolution they output. chances are it aint gunna be widescreen.

actually i was doing some reading and it looks like some dell lcd's can accept component thru the vga or dvi connector. the documentation for your monitor isn't clear though.

theres a setting where you can choose HD YPbPr. "HD YPbPr is suitable for HD video playback over DVI." so maybe that implies you can use a little connector or cable like this?

component to vga

you could try these, no idea if it will work or not but the cables are like 5 bucks total so if it doesnt work no big deal
