Composite (AKA "RCA") video to BNC Coax cables?

Is there such a beast? My DVD player only has S-Video and RCA Composite connections for video. Also, my receiver only has RCA Composite connection for video. My TV only has one BNC Coax connector. Anyone know if some place like Wal Mart or Radioshack has these? If so, what are they called? Composite to Coax Video Cable? :)

edit: OR, would anyone know what cable I DO need to get DVD video sent to my TV like this? Thanks in advance!

The cables are available, you'd need to check out an electronics supplier that does video security components or similar.

It might be easier to go to Rat Shack and by an adapter (BNC to F or RCA, whichever you need).

hmmmm ... Well it looks like my terms were screwy (I never claimed to know much about home theater ;) )

Basically my TV has the "standard television coax plug", which from some investigation I now believe to be called an "F" connector. So it looks like I need an "F to RCA" video cable, if I can even find one ... :)

Thanks for your response~! :)

Nope, it won't work.

The 'F' connectors is for a RF / modulated signal, like broadcast from the TV station. Composite (the yellow RCA jack) is baseband. Totally different kind of signals.

What you need is a modulator - a thing that'll take the svid or composite, modulate it, and put the signal out on channel 3 or 4 (usually). If you don't wanna drop the cash on a good modulator, you can usually feed the composite signal to a VCR input (change the input mode to that connector), and let the VCR do the modulating (out to channel 3 or 4, usually).

Good Luck

Scott is correct. They're completely different signals. I second his VCR recommendation, if your TV doesn't have any other input. Your TV must be really really old not to have another other input, if so you might wanna get a new one to enjoy the benefits of your new DVD player.

Radio Shack, Best Buy, etc., sells an RF modulator which will take your composite video signal and your audio outs and convert them to a regular RF signal that will plug into your TV. They run around $30.

But yea, a VCR is your best bet if you plan to watch anything else on the TV like regular television, etc.
