Componet Video Out on Radeon 8500

My first guess to look is Radio Shack - they have tons of various adapters. No clue as to the price, as my 8500 came with one, but I wouldn't expect them to be very expensive at all (under $10, possibly under $5).

<< Where can i get the adapter for componet out? >>

The ATI adaptor isn't out yet, they say:

"No, component output is not available with the initial shipment. However, you will be able to purchase an upgrade package with VGA to YPrPb dongle from ATI shortly after spring. HDTV Support: 480i, 480p, 720p, and 1080i. For DVD & Macrovision support: 480i & 480p. RADEON? 8500 supports interlaced and progressive scan HDTV."

Funny, initially they were saying DVI>component dongle, now they say VGA>component dongle. You aren't going to find these kinds of adaptors at Radio Shack for $5 or $10, these things go for over $100 and up. Hopefully, the dongle will work on any of the ATI cards(any card?)

Yeah that's interesting because isn't VGA analog, whereas component video is digital, so it would make more sense (and give a better picture) to have a DVI to component adapter. Still much better than composite or SVideo, however.

I thought he was referring to the little adapter that comes with the Radeon that conects the Radeon with a TV that doesn't have an S-video input (The Retail Radeon 8500 has the S-video cable, a dongle for converting the DVI to a standard 15 pin monitor connection, an adapter for the S-video to a standard video out plug (which I thought was what you're looking for), and a cable for going from the previously mentioned adapter to a standard "video in" plug in a TV or VCR.

As I read the other posts, I guess you meant something entirely different.
