Component --> VGA

So anyways im going to run XBOX, PS2 and GC on my 21'' monitor (CRT)

Only thing is, Audio Authoritys 150$ setups seem a little pricy

anything I can do to get a component -> VGA, possibly in a PCI card or something???

OK, you need to decide whether you want to limit yourself to only 480p, or have access to other resolutions.

There are cheap ($50-$75) adapters that will convert 480p to VGA, but they won't convert* 720p, 1080i, or 480i. Or you can go for the $250-$300 solution, and buy a NextVision N6 by Viewsonic, which will scale any HDTV signal to any desired resolution and refresh rate.

*The cheap adapters just convert the signal levels, they don't tinker with the timings. If you had a monitor that could understand the refresh rates and resolutions of 480i, 720p, or 1080i then one of the cheap adapters would work for you - problem is no one I know of makes a CRT that understands those odd-ball rates.

I guess im going with the N6, looks like theyre going little cheaper on ebay

There's x2vga for the xbox. It'll do 480p,720p and 1080i but only for the xbox.
