I'm using a component connection from DVD to SDTV.

The picture quality is very good, but would using component cables improve it?

Possibly. Not all cables are created equal, especially on the analog side of things.

You mean you're just using cables intended for composite + stereo audio (yellow, white, red) and plugging that into the 3 component video outs?

Its possible that getting cables intended for component would help a little, but I doubt you'd notice that big of a difference.

Here is a thread that may help you decide. Link

Basically, it depends (is the answer). If they are all 75-ohm cables, you should be fine, but there is no guarantee that they are.

If it's for a short run (less than 10 feet), it probably won't make a differance what you use unless they're really crappy.
