Component out on 9700

Do you mean the RCA yellow component cable? I think you just need an S-VGA to RCA adapter....costs like $2 bucks at Radio Shack, or you can pay like $10 for the Monster Cable version at Best Buy. Its money, its got the Gold Teeth 😀 😉

No, component video is a seperate channel for each color RGB/Y Pb Pr. ATI made an adapter for this on the 8500, and it's native to the 9700 AIW, but I want one on the 9700 Pro.

The older adapter that ATI sold for the 8500 doesn't work on the 9500/9700, you have to get the new one...

You can buy it directly from ATI for 49$. Part number: HDTV R9500/9700 Item Description: RADEON 9500/9700 DVI-I HDTV COMPONENT ADAPTER

Ahh gotcha, the RGB component video cables. I dunno then. Does it come from the DVI output or the S-Video output on the card? If its S-Video, I'm pretty sure that Monster Cable does make an S-Video to component video adapter.

svideo can't be bumped up to component without some expensive scalers or other toys, its a totaly diffent video feed than svideo. The adapter comes from the DVI or VGA outputs of the video card.

Aha, thanks, I checked again and found it. I hadn't noticed they added a new adapter for the 9700. ATI needs to work on their site layout.

A S-Video -> Component adapter would be kinda pointless because you already lost the signal quality in the s-video.
