Basically here is the deal, I ordered the Dell 2005fpw and since the resolution is high enough, i want to use my PC as my all in one tv, ggaming (console and pc), movie watching center...but in order to get HDTV or at least progressive scan out of my dvd player, i need component inputs....

how do i go about getting component inputs on my PC, i looked at the ATI HDTV wonder, but doesnt seem like it will do what i i want it to do

Basically, there are no viable component inputs for a PC, and you wouldn't have the I/O bandwidth to use it even if there were.

*You also don't want to input/capture your DVD player anyway...get a DVD ROM drive and player software for your PC and do it right.
*If you want HD broadcasts on your PC and you live in a broadcast area, you need a OTA HD PCI card, and if you are a tweaker/modder type and you have the right equipment, you can transfer some HD delivery via firewire...component input aint gonna happen.
*For your Game Console, you need to find an adaptor to convert the console ouput to VGA to input it directly into your 2005fpw bypassing the PC entirely...you don't want any delay or ty up your PC just to use the monitor for your Game Console (this may work for your STB DVD player as well, but I still advise a DVD ROM drive for ripping and/or backing up your DVD collection properly.
