Complications with windows task manager

I have a problem, I recently installed a TV card, WinTV. It is great when it works, however it freezes on my many times. I am not quite sure if it is the program of the motherboard or something else. Anyway, when I take WinTV off the application tab in the task manager, WinTV however still is running under process and it slows down my computer quite a bit. I cannot seem to get rid of it after the program crashes, restarting is the only I know to restore my computer and get rid of the WinTV process. Anyone have any ideas why the program crashes or how I can get rid of it from the process tab, end process does not work for it.

I am running xp pro, with an Intel P4 2.8 GHz with an Asus P4P800 Deluxe motherboard if that helps any.

Youre unable to stop the process because it's still being used by an application... Make sure you have anything that would use WinTV is off... That means, have nothing clicked or open which utilizes WinTV in any capacity.

The process also might be classified as a "critical" system service and cannot be stopped....hence rebooting is required.

You might try opening the Services group (under control panel, then Administrative Tools) and looking for anything to do with WinTV. Right-Click and choose STOP.....

Also, 3 questions:

1: What OS?
2: Service Packs/updates current?
3: What is your logon privelage (admin, user, power user, etc)?

I ended the WinTV application, and there is nothing else open period, and I still am not able to end the process.

I am running XP Pro SP1 will all updates with an Admin privelages. And the Process is called "Win2k.EXE" so I dont think its a critical process but I could be wrong.
