I am looking for someone who is very savvy when it comes to technical knowledge about computers. Maybe this belongs in another part of the forums? I am not sure. I will try to explain the issue clearly and with as many details but keeping it brief so I'm not overly daunting on anyone who reads this.

First things first.. thanks to anyone who is willing to help and at least tries to help me. I am not super technical savvy when it comes to computers so therefor I am here hoping I can find someone who is and I do not think my local computer technician is going to be able to figure this one out. This is a very serious post.. please do not insult me based on my intelligence or ridicule me.. even if the solution to this problem is simple to you.. it is not for me. It is very confusing and stressful trying to figure out what exactly is going on and it is not easy to analyze and figure this out for someone who is not VERY technical savvy when it comes to computers. Again any sort of help is very deeply appreciated. If you cannot help me.. advice on what to do to fix the problem.. such as paying someone would be great.

Here is the problem: I have several gaming mice.. as I am an avid gamer. For some reason.. a reason I cannot find no matter what I do.. they are not functioning properly on four of the computers that I have. Two laptops (1) new (1) used (2) custom built, however, they ALL function PERFECTLY fine on a desktop that my father uses. Why? I have no idea at all.. this is what confuses the hell out of me.

My initial thought was that the mice were all broken or bad but these are brand new mice and quite expensive and the odds of them all being bad mice are very low.

The problem with the mice is that they do not function according to the specifications of the mice. DPI Is way off, precision is terrible, mouse speed seems to change upon restarting or coming off of idle. The buttons do work on the mice. The things I've done or tried on the four computers to fix this problem.

1) Reformatted entire harddrive on all computers - Failed
2) Reinstall mouse drivers - Failed
3) Try without mouse drivers - Failed
4) Try different ram/harddrives on the two custom desktops - Failed
5) Turn off USB Legacy - Failed
6) Tested on different USB ports 3.0 and 2.0 - Failed
7) Tested different versions of Windows including - Windows 7 Ultimate, Professional both 64 bit and Windows 8.1 Basic & Professional 64 bit.

I have ran ram tests on the custom computers and passed. I have not ran HD tests however.. but I am unsure if the HD could cause such problems.

The mice problem of ALL mice persists on both laptops and both custom built computers. This is very difficult to actually analyze and figure out why this is happening because the computers were built and function fine in every other way. There are no issues with the computers.. nothing is overheating.. they were built properly.

I will list the specs of the desktop that the mice all run perfectly fine on and they run normal on this desktop WITH and WITHOUT the drivers.. no issues at all. They are flawless on this single desktop that my father uses. The desktop specs are:

HP Pavilion p7-1415

Mobo: Joshua-H61-uATX
Processor: Intel i5 3450
Ram: 8GB ( Dell standard memory ) Speed: PC3-12800 MB/sec (runs at PC3-10600 in this system) Type: DDR3-1600
Video card: On board videocard ( intel graphics HD )
Operating system: Windows 8.1 x64 bit

The mice I am using are the

1)Logitech G502
2) Razer Deathadder 2013
3) Razer Salmosa

I think it is best to find the root cause of the issue by trying to fix the mice on one computer.. so I will list my new laptop specs that the mice do not function properly on. I believe if I fix the problem on one of the computers then It's probably the same problem on all of them.. or I could be very unlucky. In any case.. if anyone can offer suggestions of things I can try to fix this issue in a general sense that would be great too.

My laptop is

Dell Inspiron 17r 5737
Processor: Intel i7-4500U CPU @ 1.80GHz 2.40 GHz
Ram: 8 GB
video card: Intel integrated HD 4400
Operating system: Windows 8.1 basic x64

Thanks again to anyone who can provide help in any way possible. I am totally stressed out over this and have not been able to really game for the last month. Thanks again, take care.

First of all, is the OS different on your father's PC, compared to the OS you were installing on your PCs? That might have something to do with it, different MS OSes have different mouse acceleration / response profiles.

Secondly, have you tried going into device manager, and disabling "Allow Windows to Turn Off this Device to Save Power" on the mice?

Thirdly, these are USB mice, correct? Do you have anything else plugged into the USB ports on these computers? Are you using the mice together with a specific keyboard? Does the keyboard require drivers? Just wondering if there is a software or hardware USB conflict with other USB devices.

The operating systems on my laptop and my fathers desktop are the same. They are both Win 8 64 bit as far as the other three computers it varies, however, do keep in mind that the problem exists in four other computers with ALL three mice. If we focus on every computer the mice do not work on.. we will probably never find the problem due to the amount of variables we are dealing with in regards to what could cause a mouse to not function according to it's specifications/drivers and have unusual mouse cursor movement. If I fix the mouse problem on my laptop I am 99% sure I will know after that what the problem is on my other three computers because it will likely be the same problem for all computers.

I went to the Dell support website to install all drivers/update to see if there was a driver issue and I did notice that the mouse speed actually changed after I installed an update to my integrated graphics card and updated the touchpad driver.

Without any technical knowledge.. I almost want to assume I'm having a driver conflict or a graphics card issue on all of these computers. I'm also considering the processor as being a cause of erratic mouse behavior.

Second< I have not tried that on any of the computers and I am unsure of my fathers computer is set up that way. I will check and try this though and post with the results that I get.

Thirdly, yes I have a lot of devices plugged into the ports of the computers I use and I move them around. Being a gamer I have a wirelness usb network card, a headset, mouse, keyboard and also of course my iPhone charger.

The strikingly odd thing is why would the DPI/Speed of the mouse change upon the computer going idle or restarting? I really just need an idea of where to go with this. I may not be super technical savvy but I can build a computer perfectly and I do have basic knowledge but this is beyond frustrating.

Since you're the only person to reply.. do you think I have options such as consulting with someone who can fix this? I do not think your average computer technician is even going to know how to handle this.. I'd need someone a bit more experienced. It's alot to ask someone to help me out on this for free which is why I was hesitant to come here but I just heard that the people on this forum are highly intelligent in terms of computers and I would find luck here. Thank you again with your reply. I will try the second thing and also look into more testing.

Also if you noticed 7) Tested different versions of Windows including - Windows 7 Ultimate, Professional both 64 bit and Windows 8.1 Basic & Professional 64 bit. I have reformatted multiple harddrives.

One thing to mention is I am building a brand new rig and I will use this computer solely for gaming. Hopefully everything works out with this computer. I am hoping to actually go through the building process on this forum to ensure every component is properly connected and all hardware is working fine. I will run mem tests, harddrive tests, check CPU temps etc. this seems to be the best solution I suppose? It's just going to be a long post again and I am afraid of running into the same problem but I hope not... going custom may be a bad idea but I cannot afford brand new gaming computer.. they are very over priced.

I also already have an EVGA GTX 760 S.C. 2GB DDR5 graphics card and 32 gigs of vengeance corsair DDR-1800+ unused so I really cannot even buy an already built computer.. unless I can find one without ram and a video card.

UPDATE: How exactly do I disable "Allow Windows To Turn Off this Device To Save Power" in device manager? I cannot find that option anywhere in device manger in any options tab or even on the device properties.
