Completely wiresless internet for lappies?

Hey guys, graduation is rolling around here in a month, and Im gonna get some decent dough from relatives. I was thinkin about buying a decent new laptop because I like being able to carry my life around with me and talk to my friends whenever I want. Then I got to thinkin...HOW THE FUGG AM I GONNA DO THAT? Anyone know anything about complete wireless internet? Like for when Im sitting in a random restaurant or something..I want to be able to at least check email, stocks, use AIM and whatnot...

I friggen hate lil Phone Internet, so plz dont even suggest it. Takes sooooooooo long to hit the button 30 times just to spell out a word.

Anywyas, anyone here have wireless net? prices? Speed?

After re-reading your post.. It looks like you want 'real' wireless... I know they were supposed to bring it out all over the country, but i think the company went bankrupt.

after richochet died i'm not sure who else is taking over their infrastructure.. that's such a waste because they put up a TON of antennas all over their coverage areas.. i hope someone will offer wireless internet again..

Awww dude so ricochet was the ONLY one?! How lame is that crap. Yeah I know they have boosters everywhere too. My friend has one on a lamppost outside his house. (standard street lamp)

Goddamit man then a lappy is nearly useless for me! Who provides the network for PALMs? I mean couldnt they just make a new software to utilize lappies too?
