Completely covering my wall with a screenshot - Is it possible?

Well, I am thinking about covering 1-3 of my walls with 1 screeshot on each wall. So if I looked at my walls it would look like I was inside a level. I would probably use a Source game or UT2004. So how would I go about doing this? I don't want to paint it, because it would look like crap. Do I just print off a million sheets of paper and then piece them together?

Just as I was writing this I thought of something else - would it be all pixelized since it is going to be as big as my wall? My ceiling is 7 feet.

hire an artist to paint it...or take a super high res pic and have someone blow it up: both for an insane price so that you can live in a silly fantasy world of being inside a UT2k4 level.

It's not a fantasy world, since those aren't my favorite games. Now that you mention it, I maybe should try to do Halo 2. I just have plain white walls now. My older sister moved to college, so my little sisters are getting their rooms redone (they shared 1 room before, now they each get their own). So I was just thinking of how I could make my room more interesting.

can't wait for YAGT post: "My girlfriend doesn't like my walls!! repaint or break up?"

😛

but yeah rasturbater should do it, but it will look kinda ******.

Thanks man, I thought more people would think this is cool.

vshah - No need to worry about a girlfriend 😉 And you say rasterbator will look shi++y, so what do you suggest? I want it to look as good as possible.

How much do you guys think I will spend on ink for covering 1 wall?

hmm, this sounds kinda cool... I might do something like that to my room

only it wont be a videogame screenshot, it'll be something else 😉

btw dont use a Halo 2 screen... that would look like crap. Halo's graphics suck.

You should wait until the next generation of games comes out and take a screenshot of those

go source engie, take a screenshot at highest possible resolution, dont worry if you're only getting 1 fps, just take a few, send it to rasterbautor and let them doi ti. then when printing, set image optimizer on in printer settings(if you have a canon, other brands have similar deatures that sorta add 11ty billon x aa to a jaggy image) and put it together. it should look pretty good.

when done right, it'll look like this

or this

You will want to use the biggest printer you can find. See if kinkos or some place has a 4 foot printer. It might cost more but it will look a lot better then having 30 rows of pages.

I don't think there is a place like that in my town (6,000 people). Plus, I can't use a kinko's printer to print a pdf file, can I?

I am probably going to have 7-8 pages for the height (portrait layout) and a lot more for the width, so what is the best way to put them together? Maybe get a big roll of clear contact paper and go over the whole front of the picture, or should I just tape them together from the back?
