1. What does Redundant Array of Independent or Inexpensive Disks mean? ( Please dont start a disscusion on whether its Independent or Inexpensive.)

RAID enables you to use two or more hard drives in tandem. Two types of RAID are Raid0 striping, allows both drives to be written to at the same time thus improving performance. RAID1mirror makes an exact duplicate of the master drive to a backup incase something should happen to the master.

Some motherboards support RAID onboard, if not a PCI RAID controller will be required.
