Recently a long-time poster with over 7000 posts contacted me about my item in the For Sale forum. Although being reasonably close (30-40 min drive), he asked me to ship the item to him. I obliged, but told him that I don't do business on PayPal anymore so he would either have to FedEx me the cash or send me money through various poker sites.
This poster, whose identity I won't reveal for privacy reasons, responded by calling me a scammer, and in a later PM, claimed that "poker sites are not secure whatsoever" and that "PayPal is trustable." Re: the latter statement, I beg to differ (one of the reasons I no longer do business on PayPal).. Re: the former, it's obvious that the poster does not have 1st or even 2nd hand experience with poker sites, which are probably the most secure and reliable methods of transferring funds, outside of actual payment processors.
I play poker for a living, so I took personal offense to that. But what is even more alarming is that he has over 7000 posts on this site, and I can't imagine what other ignorant garbage he's been spewing for the past 2.5 years. So that was my rant. Sorry for wasting your time if you read this whole post.
