Anyhoo, I was reminded of this truck when I was reading this story this morning.
I would bump the old thread but it's archived.
I still can't believe the base price of this thing is $42 grand! Add in options and dealer markup (it's a brand-new, limited-production vehicle), and I bet they'll be selling for $45K+. It's a unique vehicle but that is a LOT of money. And I don't think it's going to be all that fast considering it weighs 4800 pounds and is only available with a 4-speed automatic mated to its 290-horse V8.
In case anyone doesn't know what I'm talking about, the SSR is Chevy's new short-bed pickup/roadster. You can see pictures and stuff at http://www.chevrolet.com/ssr/
