This is absolutely nuts, after 150 days of eating totally clean The Rock had one of the most bad ass cheat meals ever. It's unbelievable he was able to eat it all, there's something wrong with both of them for being able to eat all this food. But Matt's just not human.

The meal's
a dozen chocolate chip pancakes
4 deep dish
21 Peanut butter brownies
& a half gallon of milk.

What interests me about these videos is how many top eating champions are skinny and not fat. Intermittent fasting on a 2 day schedule maybe?

Meh...I could eat that in a day, but I'm not gonna stuff it down my throat like that. I prefer to enjoy my food. When I was working long hour heavy labor it was normal to eat 6-8k calories a day to maintain my weight, now I need to eat about 2k a day.

Fasting lowers your BMR, that's bad. Eat fewer calories and exercise. You can "train" your stomach eating low calorie foods and lots of liquid. You can add cucumbers or lemon to water for flavor.

Myth. Guys below practice intermittent fasting and seem fine to me. I don't believe you understand what intermittent fasting is? It's the science that says you do not have to eat 5 times a day to maintain a body like the ones that the guys have below or basically, you can eat two days worth of calories in one day. Most people that practice IF just do a 1 day routine though, eating once or twice a day.

Edit1:
Hugh Jackmon also practices intermittent fasting and he got the diet from The Rock.

Doesn't seem the dude "enjoyed" the cheat meal as much as I imagine The Rock did. I get what I describe as "the hunger" after eating clean and exercising hard for a few weeks. I can eat a ridiculous amount of food when the hunger sets in. But I actually enjoy it and take my time.

Still, it's impressive Matt was able to put all of that food down.

What? I have no idea what you're trying to say.
Fact, fasting lowers your BMR.

Who the fuck eats 5 times a day? Eating 3 times a day is not fasting.
Fasting is when you don't eat anything for several days.

Intermittent fasting is 16-24 hour periods of not eating.

Essentially skipping breakfast or eating in a 6 hour window on a daily basis.

This will not impact your BMR.

You don't train on the foods you are going to be eating except for once every few weeks.

A lot of them expand their stomachs on fibrous vegetables, low in calories and won't wreak havoc on your digestion like 10 pounds of hot dogs will.

Most of the competitive eaters puke out the food after they finish? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Obviously you do not understand what the word fasting means and just ran with your preconceived notions of something religious, like how Jesus fasted for 40 days and 40 nights. Fasting is just a general term that does include, not eating for 3 hours. Some Catholics fast ash Wednesday, which I believe is just once a week. They are still allowed to eat on their fast but just vegetables so it's not exactly a complete abstinence from food.

On the other hand the medical community goes by an 8 hour fast. When you need to get blood work done, they always tell you to fast for 8 hours and to come in on an empty stomach for tests.

Now, intermittent fasting defines fasting as 16 hours of no food which does include sleep and as long as you eat enough calories your BMR will not drop and you can eat enough food in 1 meal for two days. Is it is not practical but some people do it.

English, I can understand this, and I'll agree.
Occasionally eating like this shouldn't affect your BMR.

I have seen studies that suggest eating less but more frequently is easier on your digestive system and thus better for you. If you occasionally ate 1 big meal instead of 3 or more I don't think it would change much, but I'm pretty sure if you ate only once a day each day you would be less healthy than if you split it up. Even if breakfast is a myth.

I can say for sure one of the most important things of the day is getting re-hydrated after waking, not sure if that qualifies as "breakfast" though.

Edit: I should also mention, your stomach isn't physically designed to handle large amounts of food. If you ate a single huge meal you can displace your stomach and potentially cause hernias among other things. The risk may be low, but if you keep rolling the dice eventually your gonna get something.

There are people who do this every day.

Breakfast may be the biggest myth of all.

I agree with you. I feel like breakfast was created by cereal companies for more money. We're up to five meals a day now even and I don't know where that myth came about.

There was an article I read a while back written by a historian and he said that for most of human history, we only ate twice a day. It wasn't until the invention of the light bulb that a third meal, dinner, was added to a day. Some parts of in Europe still only eat twice a day, lunch isn't that big over there.

Edit:
Article posted below.

I've never even heard this myth of eating five times a day, or this myth of "intermittent fasting" (which isn't really fasting).

We may have only eaten twice when we had to hunt and kill our food, but now that we have slightly more modern ways of gathering nutrition 3 meals seems like a good balance.

The problem today really is the quality/quantity that we eat, much more so than how often.

I always fancied myself as being able to eat big and had a conversation about popcorn eating. My friend and I thought we could come close to the popcorn eating record since both of us could easily finish a large popcorn before the movie previews ended. We were humbled by the record, I'll tell you that much.
