Competition: Best Minesweeper time on "expert" . . ..

My best was somewhere in the low 90s... I did it at my last job, which sucked bigtime... they restricted net access so I had to play minesweeper to pass the time, and got pretty good. Of course, for that one time of scoring in the 90s there were dozens of fails and 500+ second ones too... sooooo....

Back when WFW3.11 was popular there was a cheat for minesweeper. I think you typed "xyzzyx+<shift>+Enter" (not entirely sure if this is the exact key... it's been a while!) and the topmost pixel on your screen would turn white. When you moused over a square with a mine, the pixel would go dark.

I remember doing that in college (about 10 years ago) and amazing my roommates.

Heheh, simple tricks. I think they removed the cheat in Windows 9x and future releases.

In Win 3.xx and 95 (maybe now too, I'm too lazy to look) they put the high scores in an INI file and you could easily change it with a text editor. I beat ALL of the levels in only 1 second 😉

My best friend can get expert finished in under 50 seconds when he had a windows computer(2 years ago)...

My best is high....really high....but i dont play it that often.

go back to the hole you consider a school! 😛

Speed of your system processor/video have a large impact as well as luck in terms of the explosive placement.

I remember when I did under 10 seconds for the medicam level. On a 25Mhz 386 lappy.

I have been trying the 225 x 64 custom level for the past 7 years.
