Compensate for overscan when creating DVDs?

Trying to convert some of my anime DiVX files to DVD for my bro-in-law so he can watch Naruto. Using DVDSanta to convert and TMPEGEnc DVD Author to create a simple DVD for him. However, when this is played back on TV, the subtitles are cut off. I know this is part of TV overscan. What's the best way to compensate for it...if there is a way?

I never noticed this until now because I had already compensated for overscan during playback on my HTPC.
