Compatible wireless routers with Insight Broadband?

My wireless netgear router didn't work correctly with out InsightBB connection, but our wired D-link did...

Does anyone happen to know what wireless routers do and dont work with Insight? I'd also like them to automatically set up, like our D-link would, but the Netgear could not set up automatically with our connection.

Looks like that is a no. . . from the boards.

Usually this is a question for the ISP but in your case.

They seem to be pretty adament that they aren't going to support you nor are they going to help you setup a network. If you called in and were nice, though you may get a helpful technician to tell you which brand and models they support. . .

Good Belated Luck,

What exactly didn't work? I used to have insight and tested a wrt54g, dlink and a specialized router and they all worked fine. Insight won't support routers but that doesn't mean they don't work. Just make sure you set the WAN to obtain IP automatically.

I got the WGR614 working with InsightBB but it was a real pain. It ended up taking me about an hour to do. The problem is their stupid assisted setup where they try to do everything for you. I would guess that you won't have any problems with the WRT54G or GS. If I were you I'd go buy one at BB and try it. If that router doesn't work, take it back and try another.

I don't know what router you have or what is wrong but you may be able to avoid the SmartWizard.
I connected a Buffalo router to a cable connection and it auto connected in a few minutes.
When I do manual connections all I ever do is clone the MAC address of the internet computer and it works.
Netgear routers have always been a pain for me to configure but also always worked once I finally cloned the MAC address.
