I am in dilema in choosing the video card for my use. I am planning to my pc from dell and I have the options of choosing 32mb nVidia Geforce 2 MX with TV-out option or
32mb nVidia Geforce GTS DDR. I want to have an effective one for doing high quality editing with my video camera. So please advise me on this regard.
Another problem is that I also like to watch my DVD on my bigger flat screen tv rather than pc monitor. But dell says that I can have tv-out option only with 2 MX otherwise I have to wait for couple of weeks to have the tv-out option with GTS DDR card.
Please feel free to give your suggestion as it will be helpful in taking my decision at the earliest.
Thanx in advance,

Ravi

neither of those 2 cards will help you with video editting. the cpu does all the work. or if you have video editting hardware, that would do the work, along with the cpu.

if you're a gamer, you're better off with the gts, but the 2 MX is adequate. there is no law that says you can't swap out the card later on for something better. and you DO want video out. if i were you, i would build my own computer. but i am not you.

if you're NOT a gamer, or rarely play, i would recommend a different card all together, but it's dell that limits your options. i never liked the display quality of the nvidia chips, though they are fast.

i am surprised no one replied in 2 days. i apologize for my fellow members.

Mday,
Thanks for your reply..

I have given my configuration below.. Please give ur tips on that...My requirement will be with lot of browsing, DV-editing and some gaming... btw, I have a sony DV with i-link slot. So what should I have to do DV editing. Do I need a special external software to do the editing or dell's fire wire option(slot) comes along with that software package.. Some friends advised to go for ATI all in wonder card for my requirement...don't hesitate to throw ur thoughts... I am bit confused now...further could you give some tips DVD player.. what it means with software decoder? What should I look for to play movies from regions with different regional codes?
