If I use a system with 256MB RDRAM, when looking to upgrade video card from nVIDIA TNT2 to say GeForceFX or something along those lines, does it matter if I buy a card that uses say SDRAM or DDR? Does the system RAM and video card RAM need to be the same?

Welcome to AT!

The ram that is listed on the video card is they type of ram that it is using, and will work fine with the SD ram, or DDR in your system. Video cards with DDR tend to be faster than those with SDR.

Almost all new cards are going to be running DDR, or the FX runs DDR-II. 🙂
