Alright guys, when installing Bitdefender Free on a PC it told me to first remove incompatible programs and listed Superantispyware Free. My question is, is it safe to reinstall SAS Free after BD is installed and running ? SAS Free has no realtime scan, so I don't understand what the problem can be. Any ideas ?

I'm not sure why anyone wants to have 'realtime' scanning anyway.
Having the ability to run multiple AV/malware programs is good, but don't have them run all the time.

The reason is most likely that there is a database of signatures that SAS uses, and the realtime scan would clobber that.

Sounds reasonable Elixer, I never thought of it that way. Thanks a lot, I really appreciate it.

I don't get that one. I'm running Bitdefender free and have Superantimalware installed and never got that warning.

Hey John, I only got it when installing BD, so I uninstalled SAS. I may just give it a try and see what happens. I'm all for living dangerously. LOL

Well I can tell you I have no troble. I always deactivate the Bitdefender scanner while I'm using Superantispyware or malwarebytes, etc.

One thing about Bitdefender is it messes around with debugging and if you use programs that use that Bitdefender will interfere. You also can't do a system restore unless you uninstall Bitdefender.
