Not trying to be dense but I am not sure if this drive is compatible with my current mobo. I believe my mobo is only capable of supporting up to SATA 150 and this WD drive I'm interested in is a SATA 300. I have some very newbie questions:

1) Will the WD Hard Drive downspeed to 150 and be fully compatible despite the speed differential?

2) Will I need a PCI card so that this thing is partitioned properly? I want to make sure I can have all 500GB as a secondary drive (primary is currently a WD 160 GB HD)

WD Cavier WD5000KS 500GB SATA Link

Mobo Intel 925 Chipset Link

Appreciate any help anyone can offer.

Sata II (300) should have no problem being backwards compatible with Sata I (150).

1. Yes
2. No. The drive will come with software to set up the drive and partition it to your liking.
