Without a whole lot of backstory, my question boils down to this...

I want to purchase this motherboard: ASRock P4 Dual-915GL

Also I want to purchase this vidcard: XFX PVT70GUDF7 Geforce 7800GT Video Card

I need to know if that vid card will be compatible with the motherboard? They have a video card compatibility list on their site, but its not updated to include any 7800's. I called them to ask that question, but they basically said 'they dont know'

What do you guys think?

Thanks.

It's a requirement of these forums ;) that we point out that an AMD Athlon64 processor will offer much better performance for gaming. Go to the main AnandTech site and click the CPU tab to see how badly P4's now compare.

It's also a requirement to mention the A64's run much cooler than the flawed Prescott design that intel plans to throw away next year in favor of Pentium M chips.

With that out of the way: sorry, no idea on the 7800GT. You might try the Advanced Search feature to see if the 2 have appeared together in a thread. Try both General Hardware and Video forums.

lol thanks. i kind of knew that was coming.

Reason for going with this MB, is that i'm on a limited budget. I currently have a P4 3ghz cpu, that I need to reuse if at all possible, and this is the only board I found that can support both a slot 478 p4 cpu, and has a PCIX slot.
